Richard S. DeHoff, age 88 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at his home.

Born in Flushing, NY, October 11, 1922, he was the son of the late Leon and Elizabeth Newcomer DeHoff. He had formerly resided in Rahway, NJ, and had resided on the family farm in Raritan Township since 1957.

A graduate of Lehigh University with a degree in chemical engineering, he was formerly employed by Colgate-Palmolive, Jersey City, NJ, then by JT Baker Company, Phillipsburg, NJ, then by Bowen Engineering, Branchburg, NJ, and then owned and operated Custom Processing Corporation, Hamilton Township, NJ.

He was an avid farmer who enjoyed operating the family farm where he resided.

He was a member and elder of the Flemington Presbyterian Church; member of the Hunterdon County Historical Society; and former member of the Raritan Township Board of Health.

His son, Richard Paul DeHoff, died in 1976. He was also pre-deceased by three brothers: John N., L. Brian, and Ronald L. DeHoff. Surviving are his wife of fifty-seven years, June Boyd DeHoff; a daughter, Elizabeth DeHoff of Raritan Township, NJ; a grandson, Paul Shane DeHoff of Las Vegas, NV; a daughter-in-law, Jeanne M. DeHoff of Freehold, NJ; and nieces and nephews.
