She is the daughter of Paul Jones Clowes 1847-1895 and Martha A. Stouffer-Clowes 1865-1924
After the death of Paul Jones Clowes in 1895, the family met with hard times.
Dessie was sent to live with the Newcomer family who adopted her and changed her name to Elizabeth Lee Newcomer.
She married Leon Dehoff and had four sons named John N., Leon B., Ronald L. and Richard S. all four are now dead.
