Willie Arvin BROCKMAN Obituary - 1970

Funeral services were conducted at the Lyon Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, Oct. 3, at 2:00 p.m., for Willie Arvin Brockman, 82, who died at the Mary Immaculate Hospital in Lebanon Thursday, October 1 at 11:13 p.m. Services were in charge of Rev. Clarence Bertram with burial in the Spurlington Cemetery on Union Ridge. Mr. Brockman lived at 121 Elm St. and was a Taylor County native. He was a member of the Spurlington Methodist Church. Born Dec. 10, 1887, he was the son of Martha Colvin and Joseph Brockman. December 14, 1907 he was married to Effie Sapp who preceded him in death June 28, 1955. He is survived by six children: Mrs. Leonard Benningfield, Rt. 1; Charles Brockman and Mrs. Kelsay Marcum both of Route 6; Mrs. Elmer Bright, Campbellsville; Mrs. Alex Shively, Marion County; and Albert Brockman, Campbellsville. Also survived by 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Lucy Brown, Ill. Pallbearers were: Allen Perkins, Junior and Donald Brockman, Carl and Clinton Mardis and Stanley Sallee.
