She died in September 14, 1991 and is buried in Magnolia Cemetery,in Beaumont. Laura married her late husband brother, John H Broocks who was a lawyer in Beaumont, TX. They had one daughter, named Elizabeth Jerome Broocks, b. about 1910. She was married to a man named Dalton.
