He began working in the Butte mines in 1936. He was in the U. S. Army from 1942-1945. He then began working for the Forest Service at Anaconda for 2 years. He went back to the mines from 1948-1955 and then worked for the Butte Post Office until 1965. He came to Silver Star to retire.

Survivors include his brothers, Eino (Newburg, OR), Art (Portland, OR), Tiovo (Galen), and Hugh (California). His wife Alice preceded him in death.
