Bradner had eight brothers and sisters; Charles T., Mary E., George W., John Francis, Margaret A., Hugh, Sarah C., and Joseph R. Mulhair.
Bradner married his first cousin Rose Wickham (daughter of Susan VanStrander and Israel Wickham). Together the couple had six children; Willard, Charles Arthur, Marguerite Elizabeth, Mary, John B., and Ada Rosamond "Rose" Mulhair.
Bradner's brother, John Francis Mulhair, married Rose's sister, Mary Wickham.
Following Rose's death in 1914, Bradner married Elizabeth Madden, with whom he had another daughter, Evelyn Mulhair. Bradner also became stepfather to Elizabeth's daughter, Alice Ruth Wilkie.
Bradner died tragically on November 27, 1916 in Goshen, Orange, New York. His wagon had been struck by a train, while he was on his way home from town.
Bradner was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery (Port Jervis) beside his first wife, Rose. Rose is buried under a headstone that reads, "Mrs. Mulhair".
