EVELYN M. BRUNS, 94, of Rockford died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2003, in River Bluff Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Born October 3, 1909, in Lee County, the daughter of Charles A. and Clara M. Albrecht Kelley. Lived most of her life in Rockford. Married Ernest F. Bruns in Rockford, May 1, 1930; He died June 15, 1979. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she was involved with the ladies aid and was always willing to volunteer for Church dinners and other functions. Also a member of Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Transcribed Braille Sunday School Lessons for Lutheran Braille Workers Inc.
Survivors include daughter, Jean A. Bruns; son, Paul C. (Ruby) Bruns, Both of Rockford; grandchildren, Pamela (David) Stephanson, Jeffrey (Kris) Bruns and Paula (Kevin) Landdeck; Great grandchildren, Lisa, Nathan, Brittany, Michael, Ronnie and Philip and Lydia and Laura; brother, Donald (Dolly) Kelley.
Predeceased by brothers; Lawrence and Kenneth Kelley; sisters; Anna Ware and Helen Dreier.
We wish to Thank the Staff of River Bluff Nursing Home for Loving care over the past two years.
Service at 11 a.m. Monday, November 17, in Redeemer Lutheran Church, with visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m. The Rev. Robert H. Rub Jr. will officiate. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Redeemer Radio Mission.
