Jean Ann Bruns, 86, fondly known as Aunt Snoot or Auntie Snootcase, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023. Born in Rockford, IL on December 13, 1936 the daughter of Ernest Fredrick and Evelyn Marie (Kelley) Bruns. Jean graduated from East High School in 1954. She was an accountant for many years at Kercher-Holmertz before retiring in 2005. She absolutely loved all her relatives and every child in her life. She also loved to travel, stopping at antique shops along the way. Jean was a lifelong member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed singing in her church choir and sang the Handle's Messiah with the Rockford Coral Union for a number of years.

She is survived by her brother, Rev. Dr. Paul Charles (Ruby) Bruns; nieces and nephews, Pamela (David) Stephanson, Jeffery (Kris) Bruns, and Paula (Kevin) Landdeck; and as well as great-nieces and great-nephews, Lisa, Bri, Nathan, Michael, Lydia, Philip, Ronald (Pamela), and Laura. Predeceased by her parents; and niece, Lisa Ann Bruns.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023 in Willwood Burial Park. Following will be a fellowship for family and friends. Memorials may be made to Slavic Gospel Association, 6151 Commonwealth Dr., Loves Park, IL 61111.
