Evadena Alberda Farmer, 95, of Bozeman, passed away June 6, 2011. She was born July 5, 1915 in Orange City, Iowa to Henry and Gertrude (Vanderburg) Alberda. She is now in her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and loved ones and friends gone on before.
Evadena was raised in Manhattan, Montana in a Christian heritage environment. She was a graduate of Montana State University. She taught in Montana schools, in Tacoma, Washington schools, and ten years in Ethiopia, Africa.
In 1961, she married Walter R. Farmer and helped him raise his three girls, all of whom survive her: Joy DeVos who lives in Medford, OR; Joan Vollkommer, Salisbury, OR; and Judy Gillette, Stone Lake WI.
She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Carolee Ehresmann of Livingston, MT; Dale Alberda, Wisconsin; LaVonne Schell, Pacific Grove, CA; Cheryl Knight, Vancouver, WA; Melvin DeKoker, Auburn, WA; and Randy DeKoker, Maple Valley, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; sister, Gert; brother and sister-in-law, Pete and Helen Alberda.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 16, in Hills Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to the Gideons, P.O. Box 1384, Bozeman, MT 59715.


Evadena lived in 1940 with her father Henry Alberda, 51 years aged and a retail merchant in a hardware store, her mother Gertrude, 51 y too, and with also her siblings Peter B, 22 years and retail clerk in a hardware store, and Gertrude H, 17 years, both born in Montana, at a rented home at Manhatten, Gallatin County, Montana. In 1935 they lived at the same home.
