Farmer, 4 years and 1 month aged, lived in 1920 with his parents Reed (25 y, Freda B Farmer (24 y) and his brother Leland F (2 y 8 m), all four born in Oregon, in Tillamook County, in the northwestern part of Oregon, on the Pacific Ocean. In 1930 the family lived in the community of Hebo in Tillamook County. Walter lived in 1935 at a rural place in Tillamook County.

In 1940 farmer R. Farmer, 24 years aged, resided with his four years younger wife Georgie A, also born in Oregon, at a rented home in Linn County, in the northwestern central part of Oregon, where Georgie lived in 1935 too, at a rural place. Georgie died before May 1943.

Widower and farmhand Walter R Farmer was on 6 May 1943 in Portland, Oregon enlisted for military service for the duration of World War II or other emergency, plus six months, subject to the discretion of the President or otherwise according to law. His military rank is a private and his education level is 4 years of high school.

In 1961, Walter R. Farmer remarried Evadena Alberda who helped him raise his three girls, all of whom still lived in May 2011: Joy DeVos who lived then in Medford, OR; Joan Vollkommer, Salisbury, OR; and Judy Gillette, Stone Lake, WI.

Walter died in 2003 at the age of 87 years. His widow Evadena died in 2011 at the age of 95 years.
