Laid To Rest Tuesday
Mrs. Joseph Witt, age 80, passed
away Saturday evening, December
12 at her home in Somonauk after
an illness of several months dura-
tion.
Louisa Grandadam, the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Prosper Gran-
dadam was born on December 28,
1873 in France and came to this
country with her parents at the
age of 6 years.
On December 27, 1899 she was
married to Joseph Witt, who pass-
ed away on November 28, 1937. She
had lived in her present home for
45 years.
She is survived by four daugh-
ters, Mrs. Ottmar Rompf, Mrs. Er-
nest Fox, Mrs. Leo Gavin and Mrs.
Albert Florent, one son, Mr. Clar-
ence Witt; two brothers, Amos
Grandadam of Somonauk and Jule
Grandadam of Aurora; sixteen
grandchildren and 5 great grand-
children.
One infant son, her parents, 2
sisters and one brother preceded
her in death.
Mrs. Witt had been ill one year
and a half and bedfast for the past
four months.
Funeral services were held on
Tuesday morning at 9:30 at St.
John's Catholic church, Father M.
J. Windt officiating at the Requiem
High Mass. Burial was in St. John's
Catholic cemetery. Pall bearers
were her grandsons, Donald and
LaVerne Fox, Lawrence and Har-
old Gavin, Martin Florent and Ivan
Rompf.
