At the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. Underdown, No. 12 Miller street, Richard Baker died very suddenly from shock yesterday, at 2:30 p.m. Deceased, who was born in the county of Kent, England, September 9th, 1836 came to this country with his family 19 years ago. He is survived by his widow and seven children, four daughters, Mrs. G. Underdown, with whom he resided, Mrs. J. Pearson, Miss Mary Baker, Miss Mercy Baker and Miss Lydia Baker and two sons, William and Benjamin Baker and one sister, Mrs. Robert Mills all of Oneonta. The funeral, which will be private, will be held from the house of his daughter, 12 Miller street on Sunday afternoon, at 2 p.m. Friends who wish to view the remains can do so fromm 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.["Oneonta Daily Star, Oneonta, Otsego, New York, February 26, 1904."]
