Nola Mae Addison was oldest of five known children of David Ellis Addison (1880 – 1912) and Hattie Sarah "Etta" Fulbright (1884 – 1967). She was born in Flintsville, Franklin County, Georgia.

The 1910 census found this Addison family living on farm # 108 of the Farm Schedule. Their home was dwelling # 111 and the family was # 118 on the enumeration list. The farm was located on the Toccoa - Commerce Road and David Addison paid rent for the home and farmland. The household consisted of 29 year old David Ellis Addison as Head, his 26 year old wife Etta S, 7 year old daughter Nolie May, 4 year old daughter Annie Grace, and 1 year old daughter Luvie E. David and Etta had been married for eight years, and Etta was the mother of three children with three children living at the time of the census. All members of the family were born in Georgia. The language spoken in the home was English. David was listed as a farmer on a general farm, working on his own account. Both parents were able to read and write.

In 1920, Nola May, her widowed Mother and her four younger siblings were found to be living with her paternal grandparents, J W and Susie Addison, and her Aunt Cora Addison. They lived in the Broad River area of Stephens County, Georgia. Her father, David Ellis Addison, had died on Aug 12, 1912.

In 1923 the 20 year old Nolamay Addison married 26 year old Joe Loomis Bailey. By 1930, the couple lived on a farm located in Flintsville, Franklin County, Georgia, with their 6 year old son Perry Bailey. Also living with J L and Nola May were Nola's 45 year old widowed mother Etta and her 18 year old brother Doyle. The family was # 114 on the enumeration schedule; the farm was # 126 of the farm schedule and dwelling # 112. J L Bailey paid rent for the home and farmland. All members of the household were able to read and write; Perry and Doyle had both attended school at some time since September of 1929; J L was listed as a farmer. Etta and Doyle Addison were listed as farm laborers. All household members was born in Georgia.

Nola May Bailey was widowed Jun 26, 1976 after fifty three years of marriage. She continued to live in the Franklin - Stephens County, Georgia areas until her death in Toccoa, Stephens, Georgia, on Oct 7, 1986. She is buried in the Sunshine Cemetery in Franklin County, Georgia, where her husband had been buried eleven years previously.
