She had an older sister, Alice Allen, wife of DeNoon Johnson of Santa Barbara, California.
1 Oct 1876, Vesta married Stover P Clark in Camp Grant, Humboldt County, and they had a son Duval Llewellyn Clark, and a daughter Alice B Clark.
Stover died in September 1911, and Vesta became a "traveling" saleslady, selling novelty items, and she lived at places like Beckwourth and Honeylake, until she moved back to Oakland.
Although Vesta was cremated, the cemetery for this memorial was referred to because it represents the county where she died, and to make it easy for "relatives" to find on the internet. After 75 years, it was not passed down through the family what they did with her ashes.
