Thomas was an Army Medic in WW2 in Europe. While there, he received The Bronze Star. He had a private medical practice in Hagginwood, CA (North Sacramento) while working at the County Hospital. Then he moved his practice to another location on El Camino, near Fulton Ave. After many years in private practice, he went to work at Kaiser Hospital on Arden Way, Sacramento, in Family Practice until his retirement. While doing this, he also had an evening office called "The Doctors Other Office" that he a few other Doctors began in Carmichael, CA and later one in South Sacramento, CA. He loved fishing, hunting, reading and studying history, square dancing, and researching archaeology of the ancient Newgrange Monument in Ireland. He wrote articles on the Fall of the Roman Empire, on the effects of folic acid on health, and an article on head aches that he submitted to UC Davis, CA.
