Joseph Frank Besch, is the son of Anton Besch and Anne (Anna) Kilser. He emigrated from an area of Austria-Hungary that is now part of Romania with his parents and three of his siblings. The ship they took was the "Koningin Louise" and it arrived in Baltimore, Maryland in 1914. He married Helen Ruth Sorokas about 1924. Together they raised two sons and one daughter in the Pittsburgh area.
