Born in Coopertown, PA., 1/29/1848, Buena Vista Robeson moved with her parents (Andrew Robeson and Elizabeth Fetters) to Scott County, Iowa in 1849. She married Rueben Shoemaker in Clinton, Iowa Sept 29, 1869. They soon thereafter moved to Benton County, Iowa where their 2 sons were born: Francis W. in 1872 and William Andrew in 1873. Sometime in 1889 the family moved to a farm about 6 miles south of Cedar Falls, Black Hawk County, Iowa where they remained. She was a respected member of the community, much loved by her family. She died of "age and complications" at the age of 65 on 7/26/1913. Her funeral was attended by her husband and both sons.
