The parents of Mattie Elkin Boyd were Joe Berry Elkin and Nancy Matilda Love Elkin. She married Robert Love Boyd Dec 19, 1883, probably in French Camp. Their children were Joseph Boyd, Nancy Boyd Hamilton, Della Boyd Curtis, Laura Boyd Oakes, and Mattie Lou Boyd.

Mrs. Mattie E. Boyd

Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie E. Boyd , 83 years old resident of Poplar Creek were held Friday morning, July 9th, at Poplar Creek Presbyterian Church with her pastor, the Rev. R.S. Love, officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Lee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Boyd who was the widow of R.L. Boyd was born in Choctaw County but had lived at Poplar Creek for many years. She was a life long member of the Presbyterian Church. She is survived by 6 daughters, Mrs. W. F. Hamilton, Itta Bena; Mrs. K.C. Curtis, French Camp; Mrs. C.L. Oakes, Carrollton; Miss Mattie Lou Boyd, Poplar Creek; Mrs.. W. G. Rolland, Vicksburg & Mrs. C.W. Gibson, Anguilla ; a son, J.D. Boyd of Tunica also survives.
