"Viola Anna Zimmer, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, in Manitowoc, died at the center. Viola graduated from Lincoln High School in 1919 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1923 and was a member of the Omicron Nu National Honor Society. She taught home economics in Oshkosh from 1923 to 1926, and at Lincoln High School from 1927 to 1929.
" Viola was a charter member of AAUW, the Catholic Women's Club, and the Manitowoc Girl Scouts. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Manitowoc Garden Study Club. She was a past member of the Daughters of Isabella.
"Survivors include four children, Joseph A. (Jolene) Zimmer, John J. (Bernie) Zimmer, Mary C. Zimmer, and Anne C. Behrmann, all of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren, Justine (Howard) Lodl, Janeen (Jim) Olson, J.R. (Melinda) Zimmer, John (Helen) Zimmer, Michael (Kerry) Zimmer, Jennifer Zimmer, and Charles Behrmann; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Harvey J. (Dorothy) Stangel of Manitowoc; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
"She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Rev. William H. Zimmer, a grandson, Patrick J. Zimmer, and a brother, Arthur G. Stangel."
