A US Army veteran of WW-I, Arthur returned to work for his father in the family hardware business in Manitowoc. In 1936, he married Jane Anna Menten in Manitowoc, WI; he was age 39, she was 22. They honeymooned in Europe, returning to New York City on 6 August 1936 aboard the luxury liner SS Manhattan.
Arthur & Jane loved each other deeply but had no children. He died at age 92.
