Bonnie J. Yindra, age 75, of 206 Maple Street, Whitelaw, died Thursday morning February 7, 2013 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Bonnie was born on July 25, 1937 in Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Helmar and Fern (Long) Christiansen. Bonnie attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated with the class of 1955 from Lincoln High School. She married Leonard J. Yindra on October 5, 1957 at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2011. Bonnie was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Lori (Greg) Umnus, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Dan (Diane) Yindra, Darboy; seven grandchildren: Chris (Tania) Yindra, Manitowoc; Kimberly Umnus and special friend Tyler, Manitowoc; Angela Umnus, Manitowoc; Nicole Yindra, Menasha; Samantha Yindra and her fiancé Chris, Appleton; Zachary Yindra, Darboy; Danielle Yindra, Darboy; two great grandchildren: Andrew and Matthew Yindra, Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law: Gary (Karen) Christiansen, Arkansas; one sister and brother-in-law: Carol (Jim) Lambert, New London, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband: Leonard J. Yindra; one brother: Dale Christiansen; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Ardale Christiansen; Joan (Bob) Kadow; and one sister-in-law: Judy Christiansen.
A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Robert Kujawski will officiate. Burial of her cremated remains will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
