LEONARD J. YINDRA

Leonard J. Yindra, age 74, a Whitelaw resident, died Thursday morning, May 12, 2011, at River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc.
Leonard was born on August 9, 1936, in Manitowoc, son of the late Daniel and Marcella (Kubsch) Yindra. He was a 1954 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Leonard was a product development and design engineer for Hamilton Industries for 30 years. He retired after 5 years of working for Mesa Industries of Elkhorn, WI. He currently owned Yindra Sports Supply and AUTO 1 ONE used car sales lot in Manitowoc. He was a member of the NRA and life member of the Manitowoc Gun Club. On October 5, 1957, he married the former Bonnie J. Christiansen at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife: Bonnie Yindra, Whitelaw; one daughter and son-in-law: Lori (Greg) Umnus, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Dan (Diane) Yindra, Darboy; seven grandchildren: Chris (Tania) Yindra; Kimberly Umnus; Angela Umnus; Nicole Yindra; Samantha Yindra; Zachary Yindra; Danielle Yindra; two great-grandchildren: Andrew and Matthew Yindra; one uncle: Harvey Yindra and Judy of Manitowoc; two cousins: Terri (Rob) Rerde, Denmark; Randy (Mary Sue) Yindra, Manitowoc; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Gary (Karen) Christiansen, Hot Springs Village, Carol (Jim) Lambert, New London; special friends: LeRoy (Audrey) Christiansen; Gary (Joan) Krumel Gene (Bonnie) Burmeister; Don (Helen) Belonger. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Daniel and Marcella Yindra; one brother: Marvin Yindra; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Robert (Joan) Kadow; Judy Christiansen; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Delmar and Fern Christiansen Schrank.
A service of comfort will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2001, at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. Robert Kujaski will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 100 .m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. On line condolences may be sent to www.jensreinboldandpfeffer.com.
