Gladys C. Yach, formerly Gladys Hanson, age 86, of 724 S. 27th St., Manitowoc,
died on Wednesday morning, Jan. 27, 2010, at Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc
County.
Gladys was born on March 16, 1923, in Thoran, daughter of the late Bernard and
Clara (Czeck) Yach. She worked at J.C. Penney, Sears & Roebuck, and for 28 years
as a CNA at Shady Lane Nursing Home and Holy Family Memorial Medical Center
until her retirement. She was a member of First Lutheran Church since 1946,
Sunday school teacher, Altar Guild and the church choir. She was also a member
of the Viking Rosemalers, Manitowoc Senior Center Silvertones, Branch River
Country Club and Manitowoc Elks Club. Gladys volunteered as a Boy Scout leader
at Andrew Jackson School. She was past vice-president of the Vince Hanson Realty
and Insurance Company.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two stepbrothers: Leander Yach and
Irving Yach; two stepsisters: Delia and Bernetta Yach.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at First
Lutheran Church Chapel, 521 N. 8th St., Manitowoc. The Rev. Roald Harswick will
officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 1:15 to 1:45 p.m.
Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the Yach family.
