RICHLANDS -- Delbert R. Williamson, 85, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, in a Richlands hospital.
He was born in Cedar Bluff, a son of the late James "Jim" and Katie Beavers Williamson. He was a businessman in the Richlands area and owned and operated King Kone Restaurant for more than 50 years. He was the widower of Edgar Ratliff Williamson.
Surviving are his wife, Billie Sue Keene; a stepson, Thomas A. Keene of Tazewell, Va.; a brother, Joe C. Williamson of Cedar Bluff; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff. The Rev. Max Linkous will officiate. Entombment will be in Greenhills Mausoleum at Claypool Hill.
Mr. Williamson was also preceded in death by six brothers, Jim Williamson, Harve Williamson, Bill Williamson, Robert Williamson, Emory Williamson and G.F. "Bud" Williamson; and a sister, Myrlie Altizer.
Among survivors are a special friend, Chris McClintock; and four special and loyal employees, Tishia Shelton, Angie Lester, Amy Keen and Terri Absher.
Pallbearers will be Danny Williamson, John M. McClintock Jr., David Williamson, Jeff Shelton, Gaines Tatum, Clayton Smith, Randall Nickols and Mike Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Brown, David Bays, Dr. M.J. Thakkar, Dr. James McVey, Doug Steele, Jack Altizer, Bill Beavers, Maylon Jennings, Bob White, Bob Nassif and Arnold Short.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Singleton Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
