Cedar Bluff, VA-Joseph Carl Williamson, 87, of Cedar Bluff, passed away Monday, April 30, 2007, at his home following a lengthy illness. Born March 4, 1920, in Cedar Bluff, he was the son of the late James (Jim) and Katie Beavers Williamson. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of UMWA and Cross Roads Community Church. In additon to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Wilson Williamson;one son, Joseph Daniel Williamson;one sister, Myrlie Altizer;seven brothers, Jim Williamson, Harve Williamson, Bill Williamson, Robert Williamson, Emory Williamson, G. F. (Bud) Williamson, and Delbert R. Williamson;
and one grandson, Joseph Henry Williamson. He was the last surviving member of his family in his generation.
He is survived by one son, David Williamson and wife, Letitia (Tish), whom were his loving caretakers, of Cedar Bluff;five grandchildren, Melanie Hoover, Kimberly Deel, Katherine Lester, Heather Williamson, and Josh Williamson; adopted granddaughter, Amy Williamson;two step- grandchildren, Thomas Claytor and Jodilynn Claytor Tibbs;five great-grandchildren, Christopher Hoover, Emily Kyle, Michael David Kyle, Adam Drew Kyle, and Joseph Tanner Deel.
