Mrs. Morten (Mary) C. Tveten, 89, of 1916 Rankin St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly early Thursday morning, Aug. 23, at home.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday in First Lutheran Church Chapel, Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Lind will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Tveten, nee Mary Carbon, was born March 27, 1890, in Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Peroutka Carbon. She grew up and was educated at Branch, Wis. She was married to Morton (sic) S. Tveten Sept. 25, 1917. He preceded her in death in 1942. After her marriage she moved to Oslo, Norway. Returning to Manitowoc in 1923, she made her home in Manitowoc since then. Mrs. Tveten was a member of First Lutheran Church, the First Lutheran Church Women, and Gold Star Mothers, Manitowoc Chapter.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Ruby Tveten of Aurora, Colo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Inga and Adolph Vollendorf of Manitowoc, and Joan and Guy Pfeifer of Manitowoc; two brothers, Joseph Carbon, Jr. of Manitowoc, and John Carbon of Branch; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Cizek of Manitowoc, Mrs. Blanche Nelson of Manitowoc, and Mrs. Lenore Shroder of Appleton; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Morton (sic) J., four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call in Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 6 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Sunday evening and at the church chapel Monday from noon until the time of services. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church.
