Mrs. Elmer (Cecile P.) Traurig, 69, of 1108 Columbus St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Thursday Oct. 5, in Mexico City, Mex. Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Tuesday in First German Evangelical Lutheran church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Norval W. Kock will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Traurig was born Oct. 23, 1909 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Peter and Mary Tadych Mrotek. She was educated in Manitowoc schools and resided in Manitowoc all her life. Sept. 19, 1928 she was married to Elmer Traurig in Manitowoc, and was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran church and Ladies Aid Society of the church. Mr. and Mrs. Traurig celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sept. 19, 1978.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer, a son, John of Manitowoc; a daughter, Elaine Conway of St. Paul, Minn.; two brothers, Floyd and Ernest Pickem of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Theresa) Stueber of Manitowoc and Mrs. Robert (Audrey) Westdorf of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three grandchildren, Steven, Scott and Colleen Conway and nieces and nephews. A brother, Martin, preceded her in death.
Friends may call in Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Monday afternoon and in the church from noon Tuesday until the time of services.
