Dr. Gilbert Thiessen 61, a native of Kiel, who had been living in Pittsburgh, Pa., died Friday while on a visit to London, England.
A graduate of Kiel High School, he was a research chemist for Kappers Co. in Pittsburgh. He was married to the former Lucille Laun, of Kiel. They had been living in the East for many years.
Surviving are his wife; four daughters, two grandchildren; his mother and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday in Pittsburgh.
