In March 1861 at Williamsburg, MS; Irvin Sellers enlisted in the CSA as a private in Company G 7th Battalion, Mississippi Infantry. He then changed to CSA Company F, 20th Mississippi Regiment. He was wounded 1 July 1863, shot through the shoulder during the siege of Vicksburg, Miss. He was discharged in North Carolina when the Civil War ended.
