Hardy Sellars (Sellers) enlisted in the CSA on May 11, 1862 in Ellisville, MS; he served with Company B, 27th Mississippi Infantry, known as Rosin Heels, and commanded by Captain Amos McLemore. He was captured in winter during the Battle of Lookout Mountain on Nov 24, 1863 and was sent to the Union POW Camp in Rock Island County, IL. He developed pneumonia and died on Dec 26, 1863. He is buried in the Rock Island Confederate Cemetery, #74. He was a son of John J. Sellers and Sarah Joriah McLemore and he never married.
