C. ROEDIG, 55, PASSES AWAY AT HOME HERE
Charles Roedig, who, until four years ago operated a soft drink parlor in the
town of Newton, passed away yesterday afternoon at the home on North Eighteenth
street. He was 55 years of age and has been in failing health for some months.
Mr. Roedig was born in Newton and made his home in the county all his life. He
was married in 1901 to Miss Mary Kieselhorst who survives him with six sons,
Charles Jr., of Rapids, and Herman, Louis, Joseph, Adolph and Richard all of
this city. Five sisters, Mrs. Joseph Kissler, Chicago, Mrs. Nic Brachman, city,
Mrs. Ferdinand Bauer, Mrs. Herman Bruns, and Miss Bertha of Newton and one
brother, Adolph, of Newton also survive.
The deceased was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Funeral services
will be held at 8:30 Wednesday morning from the Pfeffer parlors and at nine
o’clock from the St. Paul’s Catholic church, with burial at Evergreen. The
Pfeffer parlors will be open from 7 to 9 tonight for those wishing to view
the remains.
