Barbara A. Rathmann, age 85, a former Manitowoc resident died Tuesday
April 13, 1999, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility, Plymouth.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening April 16,
1999, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Mathew Simonar
will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial with interment at
Evergreen Cemetery.
Barbara was born September 6, 1913, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late
Anton and Anna Marie Poklekowska Selch, Jr. She was educated in
Manitowoc Schools and for a time was employed at Orange Crush Bottling
Co., Kewaunee. She was married to Robert R. Rathmann February 20, 1937,
at Elmhurst College Chapel, in Elmhurst, Ill. Robert preceded her in
death February 20, 1972. They celebrated 35 years of marriage together.
Barbara enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and gardening.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, William G. and Sue
Ann Rathman (sic), Elkhart Lake, Wis., Bruce N. Rathmann, Plymouth; one
daughter and son-in-law, Barbara A. and Timothy B. Uek, Manitowoc; three
grandchildren, Beth A. Uek, Manitowoc, John S. Rathman (sic), Menasha,
Anthony W. and Shanna Rathman, St. (sic) Lake City, Utah; a sister and
brother-in-law, Mildred and Adolph Roedig, Ft. Myers, Fla.; two great
nephews, Andrew Roedig, Miami, Fla., Timothy Roedig, Hawaii. She was
preceded in death by one son, John Robert and one brother, Harry Selch.
Relatives and friends may call at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Manitowoc, from 5 p.m. Friday, until the time of service.
