Bruce Neal Rathman, age 66, a former Manitowoc resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004 at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center, Plymouth. Bruce was born Jan. 26, 1938 in Manitowoc, a son of the late Robert and Barbara Ann (Selch) Rathmann. He grew up and was educated in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1957. Bruce graduated from Manitowoc County Teachers College and for a time taught at Holy Innocents Catholic School. He was a cook with the Army Reserve, a clerk with Plumb and Nelson and a material handler at the Manitowoc Company until his retirement due to health. Bruce enjoyed gun collecting, model trains and gardening and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Bruce was known for his generosity to his mother and family. Survivors include his sister, Barbara (Tim) Uek of Manitowoc; his brother, William (Sue Ann) Rathman of Elkhart Lake; his niece, Beth Uek, attending school in Austria; and his nephews, John Rathman of Menasha and Anthony Rathman of Scottsdale, Ariz. In addition to his parents, Bruce is preceded in death by a brother, John Rathman. Memorial funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Reinbold and Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State St., Manitowoc. The Rev. Dave Hoffman will officiate with burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 10 a.m. Saturday to the time of service. The Reinbold and Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, (920) 682-0118, is serving the family.
