Born December 25, 1940, in Burlington, he was the son of Charles E. and Grace Edna Wolford McCannon.
Mr. McCannon was owner and barber of Mac's Barber Shop at 615 Jefferson St. for 25 years. He also operated a barber shop in Stronghurst, Illinois, and was once a barber on a military base in Tucson, Arizona. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Heritage Trust and Des Moines County Historical Society.
Survivors include one brother, Robert McCannon of Burlington; one niece; three nephews; two aunts; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
