Grace Edna McCannon, age 88, of Orchard City apartments at St. Francis, formerly of 618 Archer St., died at 11:20 PM Saturday, Jan. 13, 1996 at Burlington Medical Center. Born Aug. 29, 1907 in rural Henderson County, she was a daughter of Oliver Francis & Edna (West) Wolford, she married Charles Edward McCannon on July 21, 1925 in Monmouth, Warren County, IL. He died June 22, 1987.

Mrs. McCannon was a homemaker and worked at the admitting office at BMC for 27 years before her retirement in 1973. She was a member of the BMC Auxiliary, a Red Cross volunteer, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, and First United Methodist Church. Among her seven sisters were Hazel and Eleanor (Woodall); and brothers, Elmer, Charles, Calvin, Francis, and William Newton Wolford who married Frances Mae "Shorty" Flood.
