On May 21, 1955 he married the former Glorian Raquet at St. Peter's UCC in Kiel. The couple celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2005.
In 1956 he was called to serve his country. He was a proud member of the US Army for 2 years, serving 18 months in Germany.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Glorian; two sisters, Grace (Leon) Mueller of rural Kiel, Doris Gross of Kiel; two sisters-in-law, Lila Lechler of rural New Holstein, Marianne (Art Look) Lechler of Chilton; brother-in-law, Gordon (Rosie) Raquet of rural Kiel.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Nelson, Eugene, and his twin, Roy (Arlene) Lechler; and a brother-in-law; Steve Gross.
Burial in the Schleswig Cemetery, Rockville.
