Ella F. Headley, daughter of John W. & Elizabeth Jane (Burnside) Headley was born 22 Mar 1864 at Abingdon, Illinois, where she lived, went to school and grew to womanhood.
She was married to Emery Bond of Abindgon, Illinois on 27 Nov 1883. To this union were born four children, one daughter and three sons.
After living on a farm near Abingdon, Illinois for some two years, she moved with her husband to Colby, Kansas, where they experienced the pioneer days of the West. They took up a homestead near Colby, where they lived for some twelve years, after which they moved to Pitzer, Iowa. After several years they moved to De Soto to Stuart and later to Earlham, Iowa here Mrs. Bond has resided for many years.
Early in life Mrs. Bond became interested in the better things of life, associating herself with the church where she was an active, devoted member and worker, her friends and associates are her best references for her devoted faith to her God and in her sincerity of purpose.
Predecing her in death were her husband, Emery, the daughter Eva B. Jones and one son Henry Arthur.
Besides her two sisters, Emma Bond of Winterset, Iowa and Laura Saunders of Downs, Kansas, she leaves two sons Glen E. of Akron, Ohio, and Claude I. of Bagley, Iowa. Six grandchildren, many other relatives and numerous friends.
