Kenneth (Theo) Bandy, 73, of Cedar Bluff, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 1997, in a Bluefield hospital, following a lengthy illness. Born in Tazewell County, Va., he was the son of the late John M. and Maggie Creed Bandy.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and received a Purple Heart while serving in France. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Barnes Beavers Post 7136 in Tazewell, Va.

He was a retired custodian with the Tazewell County School Board. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Arby Bandy, Ferrel Bandy and Basil Bandy.

He is survived by: five sisters, Zel Brewster and Edith Beavers, both of Bandy and Fern Brown, Nora Sparks and Flo Muzzleman, all of Cedar Bluff; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Singleton Funeral Chapel in Cedar Bluff with Rev. Erston Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va.

Casket bearers will be: Barry Muzzleman, Sr., Barry Muzzleman, Jr., Frank Hart, Gary Beavers, Darrell VanDyke, Roger Robinson, Jr., Jonathan Yates and Randall Brown. Honorary casket bearers: Dr. C. Krishnan, Dr. Y. Hatahet and employees of Golden Star Ambulance Service.

Graveside rites will be conducted by the Tazewell V.F.W. Barnes Beavers Post 7136.
