DEATH OF EDWIN E. ARMSTRONG
Edwin Earl Armstrong, who was ill for only six days, with pneumonia, died last Friday, November 2, at his home, near Van Meter. Mr. Armstrong became ill Saturday, October 27th, and his condition became steadily worse. He was 42 years of age, being born in Stuart, December 18, 1885, the son of John and Christina Armstrong.

On December 20th, 1916, he was united in marriage to Iva Wright, of DeSoto. They had three children, two of whom died in infancy. He leaves however, his wife, son, Edwin Earl, aged 11; his mother and father, three brothers, Albert and Paul, of Earlham, and John, of Winterset, and two sisters, Nora Jensen and Lucille Bond, of Winterset.

The Rev. James Walls conducted the funeral services at the home, Monday, November 5th, at 1:30 o'clock, and burial was made in the Van Meter cemetery. Mr. Armstrong was highly respected and will be missed by his relatives and friends.

Edwin Earl Armstrong was born in Stuart, Iowa, December 18, 1885 and died at his home near Van Meter, November 2, 1928, being ill less than a week with pneumonia. He was given the Holy Baptism in infancy.

On December 30, 1916 he was united in marriage to Iva Wright, of De Soto. To this union were born three children, two dying in infancy. He was the son of John and Christina Armstrong.

He leaves to mourn his death, a wife, son Edwin age 11, his father and mother, three brothers, Albert and Paul of Earlham; John of Winterset; two sisters, Nora Jensen and Lucille Bond, of Winterset, beside a host of relatives and friends. He was a kind and loving husband and father, and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. A staunch and true loyalty for his friends, a genial personality, a warm and tender heart and a spirit democracy in the free sense of the word were his dominant characteristics that will long remain within the memory of his loved ones.
