Son of Jacob and Susana (Bartel) WIEBE.OBITUARY OF J. B. WIEBE

J. B. WIEBE, age 75, Ochiltree County farmer, died Friday, August 29, in a Syracuse, Kansas, hospital of injuries received in an automobile accident August 25. Mrs. WIEBE and their grandson, Leon BALZER of Dallas, Oregon, also died in the crash.

Mr. and Mrs. WIEBE were on their way to Oregon on a vacation trip when the wreck occurred. It is reported that the WIEBE car was traveling on a dirt road and were following a truck. An oncoming car obscured the road just as the truck slowed down and the WIEBE car crashed into the steel edge of the truck bed, shearing the body of the WIEBE car.

Mrs. WIEBE was killed instantly and BALZER died on the way to a hospital. Mr. WIEBE was badly hurt and no encouragement was ever given as to his recovery.

Funeral Services will be held in the First Baptist Church of Perryton on Thursday afternoon, September 04.

Mr. WIEBE was born in South Russia on March 09, 1872 and had lived in Ochiltree County since 1917.

He is survived by three sons, A. N. WIEBE of Waka, J. N. WIEBE of Clinton, Oklahoma, and Herman WIEBE of Waka; five daughters, Mrs. P, J. FLEMING, Weatherford, Oklahoma, Mrs. B. F. JANZEN, Hooker, Oklahoma, Mrs. John REMPLE, Corn, Oklahoma, Mrs. J. B. FRIESEN, Hooker, Mrs. D. D. BALZER, Dallas, Oregon; one sister, Mrs. C. D. CLARSEN, Newton, Kansas; five brothers, W. B. WIEBE of Chesterfield, Missouri, P. D. WIEBE of Fairfield, California, Henry B. WIEBE of Rinton, Washington, K. B. WIEBE of Two Buttes, Colorado, R. B. WIEBE of Buffalo, Missouri, thirty-seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held in the Baptist Church Thursday, September 04, for J. B. WIEBE, Ochiltree County farmer, who died August 29 of injuries received in an automobile wreck near Syracuse, Kansas.

Rev. F. D. Koehn conducted the final Services, assisted by Rev. G. H. Neufeld.

Pallbearers were Wallace WIEBE, Alfred WIEBE, Virgil FLEMING, Harold JANZEN, John E. REMPEL and Melvin FRIESEN.
