LEOMINSTER - Charlotte M. (Martin) Hocquard Whitney, 92, formerly of Shirley, died Monday in Fairlawn Nursing Home, 370 West St.
She leaves a daughter, Irene Z. Hauger of Leominster; a stepson, Donald C. Whitney of Fitchburg; and a niece. Her first husband, Purley C. Hocquard, died in 1967. Her second husband, Carl C. Whitney, died in 1976. She was born in Westfield, Queens County, Nova Scotia, Canada, the daughter of Allen and Mary (Dunn) Martin. She was a longtime resident or Shirley before moving to Leominster four years ago.
She was formerly employed by the President Suspender Co. in Shirley, retiring many years ago.
She was a member of the United Church of Shirley and its Ladies Society. She was also a member of the Altruian Club and the Shirley Golden Age Club.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers. Contributions may be made to The United Church of Shirley Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 457, Shirley 01464. Arrangements are under the direction of Silas F. Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West St.
