Mr. Charlie Wesley Wells, 95, went to be with his Lord at the home of his daughter Mrs. James Allen Reynolds of Callands, VA, after being in declining health for one week.

He was a son of the late Matthew Clay Wells and Mary Shorter Wells. He had made his home in Callands all of his life where he was a well known farmer and carpenter.

He had been a member of County Line Christain Church in Henry County, VA since 1886.

His wife Ida Hankins Wells went to be with her Lord on March 30, 1957. He was the last member of his immediate family.

Surviving are six daughers Mrs. James Allen Reynolds of Callands, Mrs. Mabel Merricks of Callands, Mrs. John Hooper of Arlington, VA, Mrs. Sue Pearce of Washington, DC, Mrs. Ruby Deyerle of Highland Springs, VA and Mrs. Elise Cardwell of Alexandria, VA and four sons, Jabez Peter Wells, Sr of Danville, VA, Paul Campbell Wells of Danville, Lloyd William Wells of Bassett, VA and Carroll David Wells of Martinsville, VA and 23 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Final rites were conducted at County Line Christain Church. Burial followed in the Church cemetery.
