Villa, Gilbert (Javí) Garcia 83, of Glendale, AZ, went peacefully to his heavenly home, with his loving family by his side, on March 13, 2014.

His deep faith in God, love of life, and infectious smile, provided him with the strength and will to live. He fought the good fight and his legacy will be felt for generations to come. He built many relationships through his unselfish willingness to help others.

He was the owner of Gil Villa's Paint and Body Shop, a member of the Cursillo at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, and touched the lives of many through his dedication as an AA meeting leader and sponsor of 27 years.

An ASU football and Phoenix Suns Basketball fan, he also enjoyed deep sea fishing and camping. We will forever miss you and keep your love in our hearts as we celebrate your life.

Born to Guillermo and Ramona Villa in Tempe, AZ on Jan. 10, 1931. He and his wife Frances Pacheco Villa were married for 63 years, together they raised 5 daughters.

Survived by 5 sisters: Mercy, Terry, Susie, Annie, and Lupe, and preceded by 2 brothers, William and Alex.

Visitation will be at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave. in Glendale on Mon., Mar. 24 from 6 - 8pm, with Rosary at 7pm. Mass at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Tues., March 25 at 10am, 6180 W. Utopia Road, Glendale, AZ.
