He was a retired insurance agent and founder of Treon's Insurance Agency; attended Morning Star School, Washington Twp.; was a member and former council member of Himmels Lutheran Church, Rebuck; a former secretary of the Himmels Cemetery Association; a past noble grand of Dornsife Mahanoy Odd Fellows Lodge 551; a past president of the Tri-County Past Grand Association; a former director of the Odd Fellows Home in Lower Swatara Twp.; a former director of Yorktowne Mutual Insurance Co., York; a member of the Hershey unit of the Antique Automobile Club of America and the club's Shikellamy Region and a former and honorary member of its Allegheny Mountain Region; and a member of Herndon Fire Company.
Surviving are his wife, Daisy R. Gessner Treon; a daughter, Joan Zerbe of Herndon RD 1, with whom he lived; and two sisters, Edna Mattern of Dalmatia and Bessie Mattern of Sunbury.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in his church. Burial will be in Himmels Cemetery, Rebuck.
Viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church, where Odd Fellows services will be held at 8 p.m. tomorrow.
Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown RD 1, is handling arrangements.
