Joan Kathleen Zerbe, 82, of Northumberland, formerly of Herndon, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at Nottingham Village, Heather Court Apartments, Northumberland.
She was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Daisy and Samuel Treon. She was married to Donald W. Zerbe who preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 2013.
Joan was a graduate of Mahanoy-Joint High School.
She was briefly employed by Johnson and Bailey Shoe Company and then began working for her father as a secretary at Treon's Insurance Agency, which she and her husband took over.
She was a member of Himmel's Church, Rebuck, a member and past Noble Grand of the Idella Rebekah Lodge 58 of Dornsife, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Joan enjoyed traveling and visited all of the contiguous states. She also enjoyed dinning out.
She is survived by two brothers-in-law, Richard Zerbe and his wife Jessica, of Dalmatia, and Clair Harner, of Dalmatia; nieces and nephews; and close friends, Dennis and Connie Hess and David.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Himmel's Church, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Jane Compton officiating. The Rebekah Lodge will conduct their service at 10:50 a.m.
Interment will follow in Himmel's Cemetery.
