Mary Jane Carrico, 68, 1779 Lincoln Park Road, Springfield, died at 9:35 p.m. Oct. 20, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. A Marion County native, Carrico had worked at Cowden Manufacturing Company in Springfield. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by: two sons, Thomas Gerard Carrico and Daniel Ray "Danny" Carrico; one brother, Robert "Bobby" Thomas; and parents, Edward and Elizabeth Raley Thomas. Survivors include: her husband, Emanuel Carrico of Springfield; four sons, Allen Carrico of Bardstown, Terry Carrico of Richmond, Ricky Carrico of Versailles and David Carl Carrico of Ashland; two daughters, Kathy Medley of Springfield and Diane Shewmaker of Nicholasville; eight sisters, Helen Chavez of Florence, Barbara Mattingly of Lebanon, Suzy Logsdon of Lexington, Connie O'Daniel of Nicholasville, Nancy Totten of Louisville, Kathy Thomas of Louisville; Peggy Gorman of Nederland, Colo., and Jacky Thomas of Lexington; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Oct. 23 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Springfield with Rev. Culpepper Elliott officiating. Burial was in St. Rose Cemetery in Springfield. Active pallbearers were Allen, Terry, Rick and David Carrico, Craig Medley and Greg Shewmaker. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield was in charge of the arrangements.
