Lime Co., Rockwood, died Thursday morning at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. He
had been in ill health for several months.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rockwood Lutheran Church, the
Rev. Edward Zell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Tills, son of the late Charles and Augusta Lasso Tills, was born Jan. 9,
1887, in Waukesha County. He married Adelaide Petersen of Manitowoc May 23,
1917, and the couple located at Rockwood where he was associated with Allwood
Lime Co., serving for a time as its president. When he disposed of his interests
in the business in 1950 the couple came to Manitowoc.Mr. Tills was affiliated
with the Mens Garden Club of Manitowoc, the Manitowoc County Chapter, Izaak
Walton League, of which he was a past president, served as a trustee of Rockwood
Lutheran Church, was for many years a member of the Town of Kossuth School Board
and was a member of the Francis Creek Bank Board
of Directors.
Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Carroll Sorenson of Two Rivers, and
Mrs. Roland Aplin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, George of Manitowoc; a
sister, Mrs. William C. Kappelman of Rt. 2, Manitowoc; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m.
Friday until 10:30 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be moved to the church
where the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
