Mrs. William (Adelaide S.) Tills, 93, a resident of Pikes Peak Manor, Colorado Springs, Colo., a former Manitowoc resident, died Wednesday evening, August 14, at Colorado Springs.
Funeral services will [be at] 11 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Chapel, Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard E. Lind will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Tills was born Sept. 14, 1891, at Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late Axel and Marianne Olsen Petersen. She was raised in Chicago moving to Manitowoc as a young girl and graduated from The Old Northside High School in Manitowoc and then attending Manitowoc County Normal. She taught school at Rockwood Public Schools for a few years. Mrs. Tills live in Manitowoc most of her life moving to Colorado in 1978. She was married to William J. Tills, May 23, 1917. He preceded her in death Oct. 3, 1957. Mrs. Tills was a member of First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Carroll Sorenson of Neenah, Wis. and Jean and Roland Aplin of Colorado Springs, Colo; eight grandchildren, Christina Sorenson Finet of Madison, Wis., Barbara Sorenson Stolberg of Forest Lake, Minn., Dr. John Sorenson of Royal Oak, Mich., David Sorenson of Milwaukee, Bonnie Aplin Pring of Colorado Springs, Colo., Laurie Aplin of Colorado Springs, Colo., David Aplin of Denver, Colo. and Bill Aplin of Chicago, Ill. and three great grandchildren, Aaron Pring, Sarah Sorenson and Nicole Finet. She was preceded in death by a son, Ensgin Robert Tills who was killed during World War II and a brother, Andrew Petersen in 1959.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, 9th St. Chapel, Manitowoc, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and at the church chapel on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
