Lucille S. Benson, 75, of Meridan Street, Morgantown, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at the Atlantic City Medical Center in Atlantic City, N.J.

She was born Nov. 16, 1926, in Cherry Grove, daughter of the late Ray O. and Daisy Thomas Strawser.

She was co-owner, along with her husband, Fred Benson, of Benson Hardware, on Collins Ferry Road, for 35 years. She loved flowers and enjoyed her time at home with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Fred Allen Benson; a son and a spouse, Fred A. and Diane Benson Jr., of Morgantown; two brothers, Cecil Strawser, of Kingwood, and Paul Strawser, of Reedsville; and a grandson, Ian E. Benson, of Morgantown.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ford Strawser; and a sister, Donnie Reckard.

Friends may call at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, until the 2 p.m. service, with the Rev. Stacy Groscup officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
