Sharley Ann Hersberger, 91, Lapel, died Sunday, Dec. 4, at St. John's Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Hamilton County on Jan. 25, 1897, the daughter of James Elmer and Ada Mary (Commons) Stottlemyer. A 1915 graduate of Lapel High School, Mrs. Hersberger was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church and taught high school Sunday School for several years. She was also a counselor with the Youth Fellowship organization, a past-president of the United Methodist women and had been a lay member to the annual conference three times.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Hersberger of Sheridan, Keith Hersberger and Dale Hersberger, both of Anderson; three daughters, Vivian Williams of Lapel, living Henley of Clearwater, Fla., and living Spearman of Anderson; a brother, Raymond Stottlemyer of Noblesville; two sisters, Lauretta Ehman of Zionsville and Mary Dellinger of Westfield; 16 grandchildren, one step-grandchild and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ford Street United Methodist Church. The Rev. Larry Owen will officiate. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery in Lapel. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon's International.

She married Aris Dale Hersberger on Aug 22, 1916 in Noblesville, Hamilton County, Indiana. They divorced June 13, 1941 in Anderson, Madison County, Indiana.
